Do I have to flash back to stock before VZW 6.5 install?

As the title says, my unlocked VZW TP2 running energy rom, needs to go back to a stock rom as I've lost international functionlity via this rom.

My question is, in order to flash to VZW's new 6.5 rom, may I keep this TP2 unlocked? Do I need to flash back to original VZW 6.1 before I can flash the new VZW 6.5?

Nah, you fine you can keep it unlocked, just flash the 6.5 and you will be good to go.
