How to customize Alarm and SMS Sound with your own sound?

I have an MP3 sound that I can use as Ringtone, but not as Alarm sound. Please help.

well i put my mp3 tone in storage card/mydocuments and now i can select it as a message tone

You need to turn the mp3 into a .wav file and dump it in the \Windows directory.

Do that and then you'll see your ringtone as an option for your alarm clock tone too

Which program do you use to convert mp3 to .wav? Is there a software in TP2 that can convert it?

try putting the mp3 into my device > application data > sounds. that where I put it for text alerts. I think someone mentioned it for alarms as well

I personally use some sound editing software on my computer (which isn't free)

What OS do you have on your computer. Vista has this option installed. Just right click and go to convert audio format and the app opens.


BTW the app is Windows audio converter.

as for converting software, Im pretty sure PSP9(or something like that) does it. I used to used it to convert videos to put on my PSP. Pretty sure it handles all formats
