new email notification opens outlook email

It seems to have started doing this recently, or maybe after I installed mobile shell but new email notification from the task bar and from the slide to unlock now opens up the outlook email folder rather than my gmail account which the email comes in to. Is there a setting for this to set the default email folder? Shouldn't it just open the folder for the email that came in?
