i have the exact same question. i also want to know how long the warranty is
Yes those are the same issue. I've had this refurbished phone since early December and it just got the rainbow banding/oil screen issue the other day. Took it to VZW and they sent me a replacement (another refurb). It should be covered for up to a one year warranty I believe

Also, I've had problems with texts that get lost to the nether, even though I clearly hit send, yet they never go through and aren't in my sent items. I've also had the phone turn itself off three times today after 'sending' a text message. I turn the phone back on to no text sent. What's the worst part is I don't usually know the phone has gone off until twenty minutes later thinking "Why haven't I gotten a response?"

This phone was hard reset the day I got it and I have only installed a few cabs on it. Does anyone know if you get a different model as a replacement for an old one (even if refurbished) if the warranty is extended or am I sol?
Wow you should definitely take that in. I'm almost positive you would get a refurbished model. If you have insurance and want to make a claim, then I believe you can get a new one, but you might be charged a premium

Re: What problems have you had with Touch Pro 2?

The problems I’ve been having is sometimes the phone just runs real slow, many times almost once a day I have to do a soft reset because something will screw up, if you install or uninstall 1 program that WM doesn’t like, it can mess up the whole phone to the point of doing a hard reset (this happened to me this week trying to uninstall Bing beta, I literally had to redownload the stock Sprint Rom and install radio Rom all over again to finally get it working right).

Another thing is the apps sucks, its like they are all from the 90’s. Take for instance Facebook app, it sucks big time, it doesn’t update automatically and you can’t read the replies. Another issue if you use the headphones too long and the phone gets hot, the phone speaker won’t work later unless you take out the battery for a minute. Another thing that’s getting on my nerves, is that you constantly have to install patches to make the phone behave right (like the sms sent notification fix), same goes for Pandora and other progs. I mean its 2010, we shouldn’t be having these issues in this day and age.

Anyways, this is my final week with this phone, I’ve grown tired of constant rom changes and the issues associated with WM.

I agree with everything you've said.

I saw your post about the Nexus One. Looks like a nice phone

Yeah, I told myself I was gonna try that after the last time I backed my phone up, but I hadn't installed the 2016 SMS fix yet. I'm definitely going to do one though because it's a real PITA!!

Rice? How does that work, are you beinng serious? I tried the duct tape today...it works for 5 seconds and i can literally sit and watch the "rainbow" come right back. this sucks

The failure-to-wake occurs fairly often for me. Is it really a hardware problem that an exchange might solve? I've been assuming that the problem is in the firmware, because it goes away (temporarily) by jiggling Auto Adjust Backlight.

Do you run a custom ROM with a lot of programs running in the background? Sometimes this is the issue for me. I made sure to always close out opera and other programs and I was fine
