Way to force rev-a???

I am having problems with my tp2 internet speeds. It is driving me slowly insane. I saw someone post about how their internet is slow but proposed no solution. I think the solution is to force the phone to use evdo rev-a. Does anyone know if there is a way to do this. It is not my signal strength either, i did a test right by the tower and i get the same results. Also when you use the field test, which one is rev-a? It doesn't exactly say.
