Like everyone has pointed out by the end of 2011 androids will rule the earth. a toy is the iphone but the android os is no punk, its the best of both worlds, winmo and iphone apps.
You are wrong on so many levels its not even funny. The thing keeping WinMo going is enterprise. Behind nearly every ATM machine and GPS device and so on and so on is WinMo. Android is kool. Kinda like the Iphone Os. But they will never pass or take out WinMo. Not even close. Even on the consumer side, people are followers. Android has done nothing special and its all the hype. Name something you can do on Android that you cannot do on WinMo??? (Hear that? That is the crickets) Its just been given a lot of media hype. When WinMo 7 comes out..look out!

I'm going to stop you right there. 1st we're not comparing it to winmo 7, hell you can't even do that because nobody has even seen 7 yet. 2nd I don't give a damn what runs an ATM machine. 3rd I didn't say you can do more, but you sure can do a hell of a lot of stuff a hell of a lot easier

Ohhhhhh Kay. First let me say this. If you don't read your own replies, there is no way to reason with you. I only mentioned ATM machines and so on because you said that the only thing keeping WinMo going was PowerPoint etc...(you were way off on that one). Secondly yes, some of us have seen WinMo 7. Third, from your other post...Your rep shows you have been here a long time...I have been here longer and thru other means provided help to many members. I don't mind staying in the background and for certain reasons, I have to. Lastly, yes, I have seen, held and played with many devices, including Android devices. The Nexus is nothing compared to a few devices coming out in 2.5 months. You talk about it being more powerful then the TP2..well duh..it has a faster processor. Of course its faster. The nexus is not more powerful then the HD2 and not nearly as smooth as an HD2 with Sense 2.6 or running Titanium. That is an apples to apples comparison.

Anyhow, whatever floats your boat. All of these phones and their OS's will just continue to leapfrog each other. For the end user/consumer its a good thing because you get more for your buck.

Your jumping the bandwagon to android. Not surprising there are a lot of ppl front running out there.

Google supports activesync. They use activesync to connect to exchange. They do not support all of the exchange features. There was a report published a few months ago that exchange has 29 or so features that google and apple dont even implement - either all or the vast majority. Some of which were security features. If i have time and can find it I definitely will post the link to it.

I am also curious what your daily job etc is.

What is your foundation for 2011 androids will rule the world? Even Gartner who does this for a living said they will gain market share but still be far behind Symbian.

What I would like to know is, how come no one talks about google and privacy violation? They index, catalog, data mine everything about you. Gmail (their apps, web robots, algorithms ) read your information and sell it to vendors. Google voice they convert your voice to text, data mine it and sell it. They forget to remove it from google search indexing and next thing you know everyones information is public information. Do you really think android is going to be anything different for them? Nothing is Free, especially not with GOOGLE.

For what its worth, Ive come across enterprise admins who have run android and laughed at it compared to RIM and Winmo.
it's late excuse my typos or grammar...

my last reply in the "dispute" android vs winmo, there is a reason we are all waiting for winmo 7 (including myself) and that is because windows 6.anything is outdated compared to any os out there, thats the bottom line. I'm not doubting windows potential and i hope to god once winmo 7 hits, winmo will finally get the support from all the app makers and so forth, but until then the winmo 6 series is a completely outdated OS. now if someone wants to ask me anything i'm all ears but i'm not having a debate anymore. Once winmo 7 drops i'll be the 1st person in line to buy on whatever phone supports it.

it's just ATM... the "M" stands for machine. we don't say CD disks do we

it's been my observation that even with almost the same hardware (hero vs tp2) the android wins in web browsing. even with my tp2 on wifi and the hero on 3g the hero beats the heck out of my tp2. with a light web page you won't notice a difference, but if you go to a page loaded with graphics ( engadget.com for example) it takes for ever for the page to load. i have not yet once had the patience to wait for the page to load on my tp2. and forget skyfire - blurred garbage isn't worth the speed.

i love the tp2 but after all the years of head start why hasn't winmo come up with a browser that can even keep up with the new kids? my 2 year old ipod touch is even faster than the hero and tp2.

i've got 8 days left to make my decision to keep the tp2 or switch. for anything other than web browsing and ebook reading (stanza on the ipod touch blows any winmo ereader away) the tp2 is wonderful... but the main thing i like to do is browse the web and read books...

hmmm, maybe i bought the wrong device.

also, how is it hype when i have a tp2 and a Nexus one, obviously i've tried them both, plus you can see by my rep how long i've been a ppcgeek. i've had everything winmo from the audiovox 6600 and up with sprint so i'm more bias towards winmo. Have you even held or seen a Nexus one in real life?

LIKE slim said. It don't necessarily do more, it just does it faster, easier, smoother and looks better. Like for instance the Facebook app or Pandora, on the tp2 there slow n ugly especially Pandora on the tp2......

I wanted to not believe anything could be better than winmo, but the discussions with a few android users here changed my mind and I had to see for myself, and holy wow, everything on winmo is a chore. On android things are so simple and help you... its crazy, I'd ay try a nexus one and I bet almost definantly you would love it....
