Hopefully this is not to stop tethering entirely although the poster above said he actually has a tethering plan so if he can't get it either it must be an all around Network error. I did notice that when my phone was listed as connected it did not renew the DNS in IPconfig. I flushed the DNS hoping it would force it to renew however still no luck.

I was wondering if this was a DNS issue as well, and for kicks I put in google's public DNS (I didn't even know they offered it! Google really is taking over the world) and as of right now I am tethered and able to open multiple pages without any issues. Will keep using and see if anything changes. hmmm I can't post a link due to post count.

copy paste should work:

code.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using.html

I will say this about my attempts thus far to fix this issue with Sprint's assistance: I am sadly reminded of how intensely challenging it often is to deal with Sprint's customer service. The inconsistency of information provided by one rep to the next is (and yet isn't) surprising. And their inability to diagnose the problem is truly frustrating.

What a pain.

Prediction: They will eventually need to change my vision user name in order to reset the entire data connection.

Wow. This DOES work. It's a little slower than my normal tether speed, and hangs a bit, but it's much more stable. I hope this continues to work, and THANK YOU for finding and sharing this.

Follow the link as provided by Taishou, follow the instructions and give that shot. It seems to be working for me.

On your workstation, in your internet browser address bar

This is also confirmed working on my laptop with Windows7. It took a few moments for it to connect to the internet, but it's been stable in connection

Nice to hear it works for you too, hopefully for others as well... I guess Sprint was/is doing something to their network... only drawback with this solution is that there is no way to really know when the Sprint network will be back to normal..

This is not just Sprint

I have a Verizon TP2 and i am seeing the same issues. I normally got a 1.0-1.5 MB connection. As of lately i have been seeing 100-300KB/s. This would not be a issue if it wasn't my main internet. I think it says it is in the EVDO network, but it isn't. This page too about 45 seconds to load. 43 more than normal.

EDIT: Forgot to say it will connect to the "fast" network, but it doesn't last long. I have to keep the connection alive the whole time.
