SMS timestamp inconsistant (not 2016 bug)-stock rom

I've had the same issue myself. The phone has a very hard time knowing the correct time when you have it set to "My Location" even though it tells me what time zone i am in when i go into the time settings. The result has been my text messages have been off be sometimes 1 or 2 hours. I typically solve the issue by added the city i'm currently and setting the phone to that, but even then the phone will still have trouble sometimes and i have to reset.

Alot of time it will tell me the time in Mountain and Central times are the same but Eastern is different but then do the opposite the next day and say Central and Eastern are the same. This was all before the 2016 bug and it comes and goes randomly.
