Re: Best backup for upgrading stock ROM?
Not sure I follow sorry. You're looking to flash from stock 6.1 to a custom 6.5 right? And you're asking what's the best backup software to use so you can restore your data after you've flashed?
If that's the case, you can't really do a restore per se. You're best bet is to flash the custom ROM, then re-sync your PIM data and reinstall your apps. SASHIMI is great for reinstalling apps, reapplying registry fixes , keys, etc. But be careful when restoring that you don't restore system files or registry keys. You'll break or undo the work in the custom ROM. I'm not sure if you can restore PIM data from a 6.1 to a 6.5 ROM...you'd have to get someone else's input on that one -if you prefer not to re-sync PIM data that is.

Re: Best backup for upgrading stock ROM?
You'll still be flashing a new ROM from T-Mobile then. In which case the same applies...be very careful when restoring from any kind of backup program. Backup/restore is great if you have to do a hard reset because something screwed up, or if you lost some data and need to get it back. It's not recommended when flashing to a different ROM.
If you're not going to be flashing that often just go with the reinstall of everything. If you are going to flash on any kind of semi-regular basis, it's worth looking into something like SASHIMI. |

Re: Best backup for upgrading stock ROM?
This is a pretty good start. It does seem daunting at first glance. This program can do as little or as much as you need it to. Just start really small. Add a few cabs to the AUTO/CABS folder, and build on it from there. Once you get the hang of it, it's a sweet thing
