Re: Has anyone figured out how to lockout data on Verizon 6.5??

I guess it depends what you want to use it for. If your on Wifi it will go ahead and check mail etc. If not, just turn those aps off. Mine is working flawlessly. The only time i get the error is if I have an internet ap enabled and the Wifi is not connected. I forgot to add in the last post to make sure your new connection is not pointed to cellular.

Yeah I would guess that was it.

Its tough for me to give you much info on this now as I don't have 6.5 installed anymore but I think that was the concern as I will be going in an out of WiFi.

From my experience, if the data link is completely off and there is no WiFi and an app tries to run a connection basically nothing much happens and the app just stops there but if there is any kind of a connection that runs from a app, often it will continue to run while its waiting for the connection to connect, then the app will sometimes give a failure to connect that has to be acknowledged to shut it off or allow it to check again, as well as the connection is going to start up and try and fail.

As you said I guess it depends on the app and how I use the device but it just seemed to me that I would constantly acknowledging failurs and dealing with to much interfacing with that stuff all day.

While with the data connection completely off, I don't have to do anything and the device will just run and get stuff when it can when ever a WiFi becomes available.

Good luck in solving it. I would be interested if you find something more solid.

I can't remember exactly what , when or where, but a few days ago I flashed the MR1 verizon update w/ 6.5 and it seems like it asked me at some point if I wanted to allow programs to turn on data, or something like that.
