Re: what is a rom?

Welcome to the TP2.

Almost all of your answers are in the the TP2 FAQ above. (also known as the sitcky threads).

Here is the direct link:http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=91619

I suggest reading through them. They will explain almost everything you could possibly want to know about your new device. Enjoy!

Re: what is a rom?

Read, read, read. Best.advice.possible. Im not saying it to be mean, but just read and be careful, youre potentially bricking a $600 thing of beauty. First off, youre SIM unlocked. To run a ROM you need to be software unlocked. For that you need the HSPL. BAsically download the HSPL, connect your phone via activesync. Run HSPL. Download your ROM of choice, run said ROM.

As for what ROM, Im a Mighty kind of guy. Very stable, very fast. But hey, once youre unlocked you can flash to any ROM you want. Play around a bit, see what feels good to you

Hard reset completely wipes your phone back to factory settings.

Backing up your phone, I use SPB backup. Demo is free, I bought the full version for $25

Hope I helped

Wirelessly posted (htc Vogue: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 7.11) Sprint MP6950SP)

Are you able to use data/internet on your device without using wifi?
If your device is a Sprint branded TP2 then I believe it is primarily CDMA. If it was primarily GSM then it would be a Tilt2. You may just be using unlocked gsm part of the phone. You may only be able to make/recieve calls. :dontknow:
