Re: Which 6.5.3 ROM works best with SPB Mobile Shell?

Cool, I will have to try out that Calkulin ROM. I guess I'll have to download the latest Mobile Shell too. I didn't know there was a 3.5.4 already...

i think he meant 3.5.3... anyway, doesnt the bottom start bar overlap the mobile shell buttons on wm6.5.3? i remember there was a workaround but then it messed up alignment for sense in case you want to switch (and i use the quick switcher a lot to get back and forth between those).

I don't use TouchFlo at all so I don't know if there are issues with it or not.

On Mobile Shell though- no, I didn't see any over lapping issues. Mobile Shell buttons were there. maybe the overlapping issues were on an older version of Mobile Shell or something. Or maybe that particular ROM I tried didn't have the issue. Again though, I had way too many little nagging issues to even begin to list them all. Overlapping just didn't happen to be one of them.

I did, however, see the potential of WM 6.5.3 though and now I really want to use Mobile Shell on a working 6.5.3 ROM.

Testing it out now and if all is good I will post the link and my sashimi package off all my cabs I install. You can choose what you want to use that way.

Re: Which 6.5.3 ROM works best with SPB Mobile Shell?

The main issues I've experienced with 6.5.3 ROM's and SPB Mobile Shell 3.5.3 are the following:

1. "non-Mobile Shell" task manager is not accessible via Mobile Shell
2. Unable to connect with Mobile Shell's Facebook and Twitter widgets
3. Phone profiles do not function, neither the native Mobile Shell's profiles nor SPB's Phone Suite profiles.

Because of these reasons I've "downgraded" to Malatesta's 6.5 Titanium ROM. I would much prefer his 6.5.3 ROM, but until Mobile Shell functions correctly in 6.5.3 it will have to be 6.5 for me.

Re: Which 6.5.3 ROM works best with SPB Mobile Shell?

I am using A1jatt's ROM found here:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=95394

It is a superb ROM, and Mobile Shell works flawlessly on it. Haven't had any problems so far. The only downside is that A1jatt is not using a TP2 anymore, so this ROM will no longer be updated. But its stable, smooth and has everything I need.

Does it have the 2016 SMS issue? if not, does it show the time the message was sent, or just the time your phone received it?

Does have the 2016 issue, but I've just let it be. Figure its going to be at least 6 years before I get confused between messages!

EDIT: How about MalROM WM6.5 build 21889, based on SSK? (i.e., not quite ready to use the kitchen myself)?
MalROM's 6.5 21889 is not a bad choice. Get the titanium release....
