Is the start button on the top or bottom though? I'm looking for one with the start button on the bottom...

The previous poster listed one, but it's a GSM ROM and I'm on Sprint so it won't work for me.

SPB Mobile Shell does not officially support 6.5.x ROMs. Not to say it won't run, it will, I have but I also have run into problems... UI glitches and such. If you want to use 6.5.x ROMs, don't use Mobile Shell period. It's like trying to find a square peg in a round hole.

I won't get baited into saying which custom ROM works best with mobile shell... the best ROM is one that is running 6.5 (218xx builds) and preferrably one that does not have Sense cooked in. Only because if you don't plan on using Sense/Manila, there's no point having it on there.

Titanium+Winmo 6.5 ROMs are what you should be looking for. There are only a handful so deciding for yourself which one is best for you shouldn't be difficult.

Re: Which 6.5.3 ROM works best with SPB Mobile Shell?

*Please* make a suggestion. I got turned on to SPBMS3.5 by SaltyDawg (the OP) over at HoFo, and have not found a stable 6.5 yet.

Thanks,
Richard

EDIT: How about MalROM WM6.5 build 21889, based on SSK? (i.e., not quite ready to use the kitchen myself)?

Indagroove's Titanium works fine for me. Just make sure you get the version that has the start button up at the top...

Yeah, I've read many times that Inda rocks... but I'm VZW, so unless someone re-packages that doesn;t work. Thanks though.

Anybody have a good VZW solution?

Really any 6.5 ROM should work for you- as long as it's not a 6.5.3 ROM. Just make sure the start button is at the top and you should be fine. And if you can find a Titanium only ROM, even better.

Back when I was on AT&T I used to like the NATF (Not A Treo Fan) ROMs the best. I see he is on Verizon now and cooking Verizon Touch Pro 2 ROMs, so if I was on Verizon I would probably try his. I could flash his ROMs and leave them for months back in the AT&T days. And I used Mobile Shell back then too (different device though).

Re: Which 6.5.3 ROM works best with SPB Mobile Shell?

I agree here, i personally have not had any issues with mobile shell on 6.5.x roms i have always used them since 2300x builds never had problems and have always upgraded the versions at 3.5.4 now with mskip addons.

Currently i use calckulins kitchen prior it was indagrooves kitchen, and i always test stripped newest ms builds from certain chefs. I my roms from the kitchens i choose to leave out the crap from htc that is not needed. I use all third party apps with light weight roms. I am working on a rom with calcs new kitchen trying to fix some bluetooth issues and i am on sprint so once i finish with i can pm u the download if you would like.

Re: Which 6.5.3 ROM works best with SPB Mobile Shell?

I am using Calkulin's v1.3 ROM (WM 6.5.5- start button on the bottom), and I have no issues with SPB MS 3.5.2. I have not upgraded to 3.5.4 but everything runs VERY smooth the way it is. Hope this helps. BTW, I also find Calk's ROMs to be of the most stable from my personal experience.
