Turn off SMS auto-capitalization, how?

settings...all settings... personal... input...
second tab, uncheck the box.
stock rom right?

yes, stock rom. doing this has no effect. already tried.

I remember seeing that option in the thread explaining how to edit the file to fix the SMS lag fix. Seems like you could delete that option just like they deleted the counter function.

here's the solution:

use total commander (http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm) to edit the following files by using the built-in text editor. highlight the file, from the file menu select edit and remove all instances of the word "autocap", then save the file.

compose_sms.htm
thread_sms.htm
