Re: does a faster processor mean faster speeds??
I have done A/B comparisons with browsing speeds with my TP2 & my 2nd gen ipod touch. The ipod/iphone have faster processors & it is readily apparent when opening browsers etc.
If I need to do a google search, I can bring up google in the safari browser & complete a search while the TP2 is still struggling to open opera. ~John |

Re: does a faster processor mean faster speeds??
It really annoyed me over Christmas as my Sisters son was at my house visiting & he has an iphone.
There where a couple times we both reached for our phones to do Google searches at the same time during a conversation. I gave up finally as he was beating me so badly it was embarrassing....... ~John |

The youtube vids show them pretty equal, and the iphone still loads and loads google instantly vs hd2s like 3 sec.......???????????? The more and more research I do the more I find it doesnt do much in browser speeds, nothing really hard evidence but stuff like this... http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_does_p...ownload_speeds

Maybe the difference is all in the safari browser (which I love) & the super responsive screen helps too but things like a simple google search can be done almost instantly in the ipod & seem rather tedious on the TP2. There are certainly things I don't like about safari so it's not all good (it doesn't word wrap, doesn't support flash & won't DL anything) but it is definitely the speed king (& I love how the screen zooms). ~John |
