Total crash of my phone last night, Restored, some weird issues now

(Stock ROM) Last night at work, I was making videos of issues, and the camera stated "burping" and then crashed. I couldn't get any menus back, even my little soft rest program, so for only the second time since earlt Sept., I had to pull the cover and use the stylus to reboot. This behavior started getting worse, I pulled the battery, etc., and finally it rebooted with a menu saying something about a fatal fault or whatever, Push Volume Up to Reset Device, Volume Down to Cancel. So I went for the reset.

It then went into an endless cycle of aligning the screen. I went through a series of button presses trying to hard-reset again (couldn't remember the sequence / combination of buttons), and finally it popped out of that alignment screen, and appeared to have sucessfully hard reset. I then did a Restore from the previous night's SPB Backup, and everything seems to be working normal (though maybe a little slow). Even my mod to the Manilla file to show the DAY of the week worked.

Strangely though, when I make a phone call, and then pull the phone away from my head, the home screen is showing. It used to always be the dialer screen. This is a real pain in the neck, as I then have to press the green phone button to get back there, and press "keypad" again if I was using that screen to enter codes.

Does anyone know why the behavior changed, and/or how to fix it?

I say do another hard reset but do a clear storage instead of the button combo. Then restore contacts, apps, and other stuff. It could be possible that there is a currupted file/data in your backup so when you restore it restores the corrupted file.
