Not possible. Also, iphone apps and WM apps are generally very basic as compared to Mac and PC software. So, if a dev sees an app they like for iphone, rewriting it for WM is generally not that complicated. So, link all the iphone apps you want to that work on WM, it's irrelevant to the porting of iphone OS. Basically what you are asking for is a ground up rewrite of the OS for an HTC device. You do understand how many millions Apple spent on development of their OS right? Your 1k wouldn't even pay for the scratch paper the developers use.
Uh, Mac OS DOES work on a pc man, lol, where have you been? You can also run Windows on a Mac. This has been the case for a few years now...

yes it does. and pretty well too(requires some pretty tech-savy work). I used to have a hackintosh lol, ran leopard on my entry level pc for a few months

But that is way different from this.

and to whoever was sayin drivers are small and not that hard to write you need to stfu lol. Why do you think its such a big deal for manufacturers to release drivers for updated OS and whatnot?? remember when vista 1st came out and there were next to no drivers for it?? yeah, that sucked

close this ridiculous thread

Wrong. They are running on the same type of architecture, ARM. If the source for the OS was available, a port could be made. The reason you can run OS X on a PC is because of all the open source OS X is built on top of made it easy for hackers to enable booting, not to mention the fact that x86 Macs use EFI, which isn't some proprietary Apple thing

Re: iPhone ROM Development $1000

Thank you for all the comments, I wanted to see how far this thread could go. The intention of the $1000 was simply to get people's attention. There are at a minimum 10 different people developing ROM's for the touch pro 2 using WM6, WM6.5, and Android, for free. These developers do a great job and make the kind of necessary enhancements that should have been included.

Someone mentioned above syncing mp3's with itunes, while that is a handy feature, not what i was looking for. It's the applications that set,the iphone apart, and the fact that you can modify the menus on your computer.

Using the ipod touch tethered to your tp2 doesnt' work that well. The location based services work off of the nearest hotspot and a cellular phone doesn't broadcast the correct location. Tried this method for months but finally got fed up with it. Carrying my blackberry curve, tp2 and ipod touch wasn't as user friendly as you might think.

How about an iphone emulator that downscales the resolution of the touch pro 2 to iphone resolution? Surely using the apple SDK that would be possible. All I want is the apps.

@ the closet iPhone Fan.

I think what you're saying is that you want an iPhone. The hard way?...

Or, is it you're just feeling really left out at parties while your friends are comparing/competing with who's got better apps on their iPhone?...dude.

The only reason why I would ever want to see this developed is to see you out of the $1000.
