Exactly post #9 will solve all your problems. Just get that iPhone it will work for Sprint. You are going to need more than $1K to make something like this happen probably a lot more and still would be difficult and would require you to meet with some very talented groups.....I prefer my TP2 over the iPhone because its not the cheesy iPhone that every poser has these days.

Even with the money Psytar made from selling less than 1000 computers, they will still go bankrupt soon from being sued by Apple multiple times.

Gonna need at least a few millions to defend in trial. Windows users should be glad Steve Jobs gave them the privilege of using Leopard skin on Windows desktop.

This is a good thought tho, offering $1k for whoever can build one. The only drawback to building it would be that the programmer and those involved, would face serious legal actions brought up against them. I mean, Apple tried to copyright multi-touch! Their legal team would be drooling over suing the development team!!There isn't a person on this earth that would build something like and not take credit for it!! Plus whoever builds it would most definitely want to show it off at the next CES show!! IMO there are too many negatives in the beginning just for one positive. Yeah, after the fact that person(s) may get a job at MS building the TP4 or something, but as for now, $1k will not even cover the legal processing fees.

There's also the fact you would be infringing on Apple's Copyright...It would cost you way more than $1000 to get your butt out of court and or jail. Cancel your contract and become a Iphone fanboy...

Why would someone want to waste their time making ALOT of drivers from scratch?? Waste of time....... Make a pretty iphone GUI, of wait.... it's been done before....Can what you ask be done... Yes. Will anyone waste their time porting Iphone OS to WinMo branded devices.... NO. And $1000 would not even come close to covering the dev costs either if you consider what is involved in making it and the time it would take one person to do all the work that would be invovled all to be wasted when Apple comes a knockin' at your copyright infringing door. Wish I could say thread closed at this point cuz it's kinda pointless to continue with this as what needs to be said has been said a few times already in this thread.
