bluetooth lag?

HELP! I found in another FORUM some REGISTRY CHANGES that make the bluetooth work better as far as ringing the bluetooth device (and not disconnecting after one ring) and also hanging up. I seemed to have fox 95% of that issue as most of the time it works.. HOWEVER, now I have an issue (which I had once before) where after being connected to a bluetooth device, my phone will start to SLOW down and LAG. fro instance, moving around in TF3D, you click or slide on something and it takes a minute or so to move... you can see things flip in slow motion etc. If I disconnect the bluetooth device then my phone gets fast again.. what is causing this and how do I fix?

Here are the changes I made to fix the BLUETOOTH but what can I do about the LAG? I dont think a hard reset will fix because when I disconnect the bluetooth the phone gets fast again.. I can also soft reset to get it fast again. THere has to be a reason.. this doesnt happen when I am using my MOTOROLA S9 stereo headphones..... only my bluetooth earpiece and GARMIN NUVI SPEAKERPHONE....

anyway, here are the reg changes... I dont know what they do but someone posted them and they work except for the LAG that I want to resolve...

1. Modify the HandsFree plug-in:
HKLM\Software\WIDCOMM\Plugin\HandsFree
i. Change SupportedFeatures to 45 (default is 1135)
ii. Add value HFBDA binary, set to same value as LastConnectedBda
iii. Add value HFDeviceType decimal 2

2. Modify the WIDCOMM bluetooth general settings:
HKLM\Software\WIDCOMM\BtConfig\General
i. Change bdaddr to (no value)
ii. Change DisableReopenAudio to 0 (default is 1)

Re: bluetooth lag?

For the lag, my guess is that your hands-free device is downloading your phone book and call logs. My Kenwood DNX8120 does that, and while it is downloading the phone slows to a crawl. Once it is done downloading those, the phone should return to normal speed. I think it may be because of the sheer number of call logs that I have, and I'm trying to find a good way to prune the really old stuff out.

Re: bluetooth lag?

I also think it is because of the data dump onto your BT device. My phone craps its pants every time I got into my TL it would automatically sync and make my phone lock up. If I touched it at all it would freeze and I would have to restart it. But If I just left for about 20 seconds it would be fine afterward. Now I am dealing with a marvelous echo, yay.

Re: bluetooth lag?

Well, I've never had my phone hard freeze while the call logs and phone book were downloading. It's just unresponsive until it's done, which take about 45sec-1min.

Re: bluetooth lag?

Bump for an old thread - this happens in my Acadia, but it doesn't seem to be getting any better... the lag would last until I turn the car off, and the phone gets hot.

Re: bluetooth lag?

FWIW - if anyone's tracking this thread, I cleared my call logs, and the phone worked much better.

Re: bluetooth lag?

ive had this same problem for awhile too. none of the registry fixes worked for me. im going to try deleting the call log and see if that helps.
