try this; in phone network mode, switch from global to cdma only. it shouldn't read the sim card then.

I just got a refurbished Touch Pro 2 from Sprint, as a replacement for a Touch Pro, and I think that my SIM card is really missing. The SIM Manager says that no SIM card is present, and in the Phone Settings, the "Mode of operation" has only one choice, "CDMA only".
Is this all just because I'm in the United States right now? Or is there really no SIM card in the phone at all, perhaps because it's a refurb? |

why don't you take the battery out and see if the sim card is in there, I am pretty sure that you there is no card.

Word of wisdom...when you get a exchange unit...take out our SIM card...Sprint doesn't send new SIM cards with the replacement units....thats why your getting the No SIM message. If you do a PRL update it defaults the CDMA only to Global by default....all you have to do is change it back to CDMA.

OK, that's what I thought. Of course, since this Touch Pro 2 was a replacement for a Touch Pro, I have no previous SIM card.
