As you can see the home page has a transparent bar at the bottom which you can see the background through. And all the other pages have a solid slider bar at the bottom. But now I have a new problem, I fixed the home page so that the weather animation comes up with a non-default wallpaper (clouds all across the screen or the sun shining or the rain yada yada) but with the BG for all tabs a couple posts up the weather does not do the full screen animation thing. So...

1. Is there a fix for the slider only being transparent on the home page?

2. Is there a way to have BG4all and weather animations?

3. Last but not least, what's the deal with getting rid of the Manila start menu?

Do those that have this "sanctioned"(by verizon) release notice any better operating(smoothness, less slugish) or do you not see any diff? Was wondering if I should give it another go, just hesitating as my current rom(6.1 oem) is nicely configured.

What "previous unsanctioned (by verizon) 6.5" release are you referring to?

I think they are both the same version and the "unsanctioned" simply refers to the period of time after it was first released but before Verizon linked to it from the TP2 page on their site. Far as I know there is only one version out there, the one that was referred to in the first post of this thread.

FYI this it doesn't say it supports install from a windows 7 computer but it worked just fine. Also installed the battery hack, the signal bar hack, conflipper weather SMS sent all seem to work. Still have not seen any real response about the transparent clock, is there one with the temperature like the stock?

Has anyone tried to enter new cities in the weather city database? I've tried to use weather_city_editor_manilla_2.1_2.5.exe butI get an error (SQLite error; no such table:countries). I also tried to copy the 2330fc3c_manilla file (that has the extra cities I want) to /windows, and was able to select my cities, but then I kept getting download errors when I updated the weather????

haven't been able to find an answer to this one yet

I've tried the weather db updater, and it runs but the db appears empty.
I also tried JVH but that one gives an error

The Conflipper weather hack for 6.1 works if the city you have is in there, it should be.

When it was first announced on this forum that 6.5 was available it wasn't downloadable from the verizon site and in fact some csr's were saying it was a non supported version. A few days ago it was made available from the verizon site. I was hoping they were holding it back to fine tune some of the lag issues as well as freezing issues and other stuff. Was wrong about that. Alot of folks seem to be fine with it, but some others not. I removed it as an inferior upgrade and worse than the 6.1 shipped oem rom. (sanctioned+unsanctioned were just my choice of words)

I think some people were thinking that just because Verizon hadn't linked to it, it wasn't "official", even though pcdphones is Verizon's official site for releasing updates. I've seen some posts suggesting that now that the update is linked to by Verizon, its better than what was first posted.

You're right. The version that was first released on pcdphones is identical to what exists there today. I downloaded the update on January 8th, shortly after it was first available. I also downloaded another copy today. The files are identical . . . their MD-5's match.

I put Win 6.5 on my TP2 and it is crawling now. I want to get it off but do not know how to restore to original ... yet .... Funny thing ... i have an Imagio too ... and although it is supposed to be less powerful, it runs 6.5 much faster.
