help, headphone issues!!!

i bought headphones with a mic but when i speak the mic isn't detected. in headphones jack. they work on my ipod touch as a mic.

i think the newer iphone headsets (3gs) with volume control and stuff dont work for tp2 but the older one with just a button work (like the ones on iphone 2g and 3g)

A reg edit isnt going to allow you to use your iphone headset, sorry. :\
