Re: Whats the Best Keyboard
i don't get it, what's wrong with HTC's? It's so good on the big tp2 screen. The layout is nice, much better than stock tp1 soft kb.
I also have swype, which is quite good once you get used to it. It's more for casual texting though as it does have some bugs. Are you forgetting about your hardware kb? The stock one just seems to work so well for quick onscreen stuff. anything that takes time really should be reserved for the hard kb.

Using TP with t+ technology (using their version of the compact qwerty) I guaranty I can type faster than anybody using a hardware KB (even though the hardware KB is the best I've ever used & I do use it for certain things) ~John Last edited by jmorton10; 01-04-2010 at 09:41 AM. |

Re: Whats the Best Keyboard
Touchpal is definitely nice, i used it for a while on my mogul and tp1. I remember how excited everyone was whenever a new release was pushed out.
I don't like installing too many SIPs though, so I'm happy with the htc soft kb. Swype is currently on there just cause its a new input style. I don't doubt that you can type faster using touchpal than some of us on hard kbs... but the tp2 hard kb is so damn comfortable that i'd gladly trade some speed for it... if that makes sense. The feel, the spacing, it makes me forget i'm using a phone. |

True, but unfortunately the last version (4.0) sucks. Just about everyone who had used it for any length of time tried 4.0 for a while & then reverted back to 3.5 (which is what I use). To make matters even worse, the POS 4.0 refused to uninstall & you damn near had to do a hard reset to get rid of the thing so you could revert to 3.5 & that turned a lot of people off (& I don't blame them a bit) I don't like installing too many SIPs though, so I'm happy with the htc soft kb. I do understand what you're saying about the hardware KB & I agree that it is an awesome KB. Although I use TP 95% of the time, I would not want to give up the hardware one either. If I didn't care about the KB at all I would have an imagio instead of the awesome TP2. ~John |

Re: Whats the Best Keyboard
TouchPal is great... If you didn't use the earlier versions, I think you'll really like it. They moved some stuff around in the newest update, so I don't really like it. I'd gotten used to the old setup. It's very fast and one-hand friendly.
Swype is also very good, but it has some issues because it's very difficult to write "manually." But it's ridiculously fast if it guesses all the right words. But editing/fixing is a bit of a pain sometimes. |

Re: Whats the Best Keyboard
Touchpal is by far the fastest and best keyboard i have ever used for any windows phone or android. It does take a little getting used too, but once you get the hang of it you can fly! pm if ya interested.
