Fix/Workaround for 2016 Issue

Never really had that issue. If you're using 2.5, and have a lot of messages, read more than about 100, it takes time. So I whittled mine down to about 25, and things work just fine for me.

yeah idk why i have this issue. i could of flashed the phone just now and still have this effect. with 1 sms and i sent a mms i cannot open the dang sms for a long time. annoying. i noticed that if i get to the mail tab and then try to open a email it will open, still takes awhile, and then i can open the sms

Which ROM are you using? If need be, I can CAB up all my reg edits tomorrow for you, that might help.

mightyrom 12.27.09 but will flash to 12.30.09 soon.
ive had this problem on my previous touch pro on mightyrom 6, got the silence/mighty rom and then i never had this issue. i keep hoping new builds fix my issue as well like nerodan, but no luck here as well. yeah if you want you can tell me all the registry edits and maybe what they do would be great.

I'm on War 12-30, but been using the same settings for a while. I'll CAB everything up tomorrow for you and explain as much as I can. Found most of them through 'G' and can't remember what they all do, but import something like 500, but that includes Owner and FB stuff too.

Just out of curiosity, is there a way to go in and manually change the date received on SMS messages? I sure would like to get my threading sorted out, even if it means editing them one by one. It's been a light texting day by my standards, so it might not be too bad.

PIMBackup - disable binary. Open with 7-Zip, extract the file, open with a text editor or Excel, fix dates, put back into previous archive. Use PimBackup to restore text messages, deleting all previous.

I don't use manila...it happens in the native sms client. Everytime I softreset, I have to open each convo and let it lock up and do it's thing for awhile. I also just leave the sms/mms prog running in the backround. I keep hoping new builds will fix it. It never happened in 6.1 with over 10,000 messages, in 6.5 it becomes noticable after about 50 messages from one person. Blah.
