I'm on stock 6.1, but have several cabs installed that tweak the Windows functionality - and that worries me. There is a notice there that WM 6.5 will be made available in another couple of months. Would you care to speculate if this hotfix will be "part" of the 6.5 update? If so, I'll wait till then, as I'm more willing to do the hard reset at that time to gain 6.5.
My guess would be yes. USC has already released a ROM with the rilphone.dll updated, so I guess the others will too.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 8.12; MSIEMobile6.0) Sprint T7380)

i just got my tp2 from sprint about a week ago. im running everything the way it came except a couple cabs. i installed the "official" sprint fix for the sms 2016 date issue and it did nothing good. now my messages don't even show up in tf3d at all, the ones that were already there are still there but i have to go to all messages to see any new ones. i read that the only way to fix that is a hard reset but since i am fairly new to phones of this caliber, especially since this is my first wm device, i am hoping someone can enlighten me on another way to correct this. don't know if you can help or not since you have vzw but maybe you can at least point me in the right direction.

thanks

The best way to fix it, without a hard reset, since you'd have to do this anyway. Download PIMBackup, http://www.dotfred.net/. Export text messages. Then re-import them, make sure you have it . The problem with PIMBackup is that MMS attachments don't get re-imported, or for that matter exported.

If that doesn't work, there's a more detailed writeup in the first post, in case it's an issue with your date/time stamps.

Re: Fix/Workaround for 2016 Issue

I ran the CorrectSMSDate.exe from my phone and was told it worked based on the message it popped up, but none of the dates changed (even after a soft reset).

Running Sprint Mogul.

Other fix (for new incoming messages) works great!

I tried the excel instructions in the first post, but when I try to reimport the csm file, it gives me an error. I think it messes up when importing it, I probably had someone send me a message at some point with a semicolon in it, and now the file's not saving/importing right.

Any idea why the exe won't fix the dates though? Have tried a few times. Or any other solutions?

Thanks!

Re: Fix/Workaround for 2016 Issue

I don't have this problem since I used Calkulin's kitchen and it has this registry already but I decided to to change it to actually get the real time stamp from the messages. I extracted all the files from the diamond fix cab from htc and it has the rilphone.dll as well. You think that if I replace this with the one in my kitchen it will fix it?

Well I already did this and I don't seem to have a problem, you thing it is because of the rilphone.dll? Just want to make sure since I have the diamond not the TPRO2.

Edit: Just in case any one is wondering just replacing the rilphone.dll from the fix htc released in the diamond will fix the problem as well. Not sure if this was mention already, didn't feel like going through 29 pages.

Re: Fix/Workaround for 2016 Issue

Hey, I was reading this and need a little help. I am confused as to what .cab file to use.

I am running the most recent Mighty Rom for the Touch Pro (NOT the pro 2). It has windows 6.5 build 21840.5.0.60.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Fix/Workaround for 2016 Issue

I used Ziggy 2016 Fix.cab to correct the issue going forward and CorrectSMSDate.zip to fix all of the old messages. Quick fix.
