HTC and sprint both are saying do not use the cab now its casuing other issues they wont talk about so I dunno I guess I will wait till htc makes a patch

Whoever you talked to at Sprint doesn't know what they're talking about. Only "negative" about this cab is that if you turn your phone off, or don't get service, the SMS you receive shows the time you turn your phone back on and receive the message and not the actual time the message is sent...which most people will deal with until they get their sh*t together and fix the issue...

I agree with your "All Messages" workaround. It appears the HTC TF3D and WinMo interfaces for SMS display and sort the messages differently.

It's nice to see the phone functions consistently.

(Maybe they'll fix the phone defaulting to the home screen with screenlock enabled with this 2016 fix. *doubt it*)

wouldn't that be nice... i just use s2u2 with a pin after 15 mins so i dont have to mess with that garbage.

This is the STOCK way that VZW has it set, checkout the OEM\Rhodium\0409\OperatorPKG\85d93f55-898d-45d5-998d-221fc1f2fd8a.rgu or a friends stock VZW TP2. Until Sci mentioned the issue, I didn't even realize that it could show the date/time it was actually sent. So I definitely have to agree with Sci on this one.
