Re: Missing/late text messages
This problem plagued my Touch Pro, but I haven't had it with my TP2..there is no fix that I know of. Try a custom ROM and see if you still have issues. If you call Sprint they will just tell you it's a network problem.

Re: Missing/late text messages
I had a delayed text messaging issue back when I had my Touch Pro. I did a bunch of research (switched phones, other peoples sprint phones) and came to the conclusion that it was a network and not phone related. Long story short I got fed up with the BS respones I was getting from the sprint reps so I sent a very long and detailed email to as many sprint VP's as I could and I finally got a response and talked to some guy out at corp. in Kansas that troubleshooted it and saw that it was actually the tower by my house.
My recommendation is to see if you can isolate the problem. Test to find out if it maybe only happens at your house or work. If you come to the conclusion that you only get delayed text messages when you are at home then it could very well be a tower. Also, find someone else with sprint and send a few text messages to their phone and see if they have the same problem or not. One more tip, in my situation the reason why I wasnt getting my text messages was because the guy told me the network couldn't find my phone, so therefore when it eventually saw that I was on the network (which took anywhere from 5 mins to 24hrs later) all the text messages came through. One way to force the network to see your phone is to make a phone call. When I called my voicemail or someone else I would always get a bunch of text messages to come through. Hope that helps! |

Re: Missing/late text messages
Yeah kinda sounds like it may be the phone. I would do a hard reset on the phone and then send a few messages and see if that makes a difference. It could be something you did to the phone (hacks, mods, etc...) Its happened to me once or twice. If it still does it after that, then I would take it into a sprint store and explain the issue.

Re: Missing/late text messages
But notice this always seems to the a sprint problem. I have never had a problem with messages with Verizon. So I doubt the TP2 is the problem. I vote for maybe it is a problem in how Sprint sees the TP2 in their system.

I have yet to have a problem with my Sprint Touch Pro2 though! I think this is just an isolated issue with the phone he has

Re: Missing/late text messages
I was plagued with these exact same problems for almost two years with Sprint service. These threads pop up here all the time & 100% of the time it is always a Sprint customer having the problems I notice.
I had switched from Verizon to Sprint to save money for our corporate account, but finally switched back to Verizon because of this & the horrendously bad Sprint CS. I am in no way trying to hype one service over another (I am no VZ fanboy, VZ certainly has their problems too) but we use texting A LOT for business & it is absolutely vital that both SMS & MMS work correctly (we need texts delivered 10 seconds later, not eight hours later or not at all). We switched back to VZ a few years ago & have not had a texting problem since. I wasn't sure I should even bother posting a response as I'm sure somebody will immediately post "I've been with Sprint over 10 years & it works perfectly". Maybe so, but we had something like 80 phones on the Sprint corporate account & got almost constant daily complaints from our employees about texting problems. ~John |
