Re: what is the most convenient thing you do with your pda?
Making phone calls...
|
Re: what is the most convenient thing you do with your pda?
Most convienent thing? Tough question...
I text all the time, email, browse the web, watch sling player, type word docs, make spreadsheets, set reminders in the calendar and tasks, use remote desktop to access my home pc, manage my netflix, use the GPS, look up nearby businesses (movies, restaurants, particular stores, etc), take pictures and videos (and often send them to someone), and it's also my main alarm clock at home and at work. I do all kinds of stuff with it, but those are probably the most convenient. I don't know how I ever got by without it. |

checkin my torrents via rdp, wifi and wired teathering, tv out in my car, usb thumb drive via usbtopc, citrix (virtual workplace)! |
Re: what is the most convenient thing you do with your pda?
The most convenient thing to me is having all the knowledge in the world(via the intarwebs) at my fingertips at any given time. If I wanna know something, ANYTHING at all, I just get online & search. I think that's the best thing about having a phone like this.

Re: what is the most convenient thing you do with your pda?
I keep the internets functioning so all of you can use them!

it would be nice to be able to access google voice and wave via pnone like the iphone and andriod devices! i had a mobile shell to make is fit to screen but it stopped working and says this phone isnt supported |
Re: what is the most convenient thing you do with your pda?
I think we take it for granted... but the most useful thing for me is that it is a cell phone (ie making and receiving calls).
|
Re: what is the most convenient thing you do with your pda?
texting and GPS when I travel. Nice to have gps on your phone when you get lost.
|
Re: what is the most convenient thing you do with your pda?
Probably the fact that it has the most powerful vibrater I've seen in a cellphone which makes for some kinky activities. The noise from the vibration is louder than the ringing itself.

Re: what is the most convenient thing you do with your pda?
Alleviate boredom....
Amazingly the more advanced phones become the less you use them to make calls. |
Re: what is the most convenient thing you do with your pda?
Probably all the stuff everyone else has already mentioned but with one other exception, TETHERING! I probaby tether every day using the wifi sharing app.
|
Re: what is the most convenient thing you do with your pda?
I have watched entire movies on it.
And porn. But the thing I do the most on there is check my feeds. It's like reading the paper with all the boring bullshit cut out. |
Re: what is the most convenient thing you do with your pda?
For security on my house. Schlage has a new door lock that can lock/unlock all doors that have this lock on them from the app you install to your phone. Plus you can monitor your house if you have cameras installed all from this app. I use it to mainly lock my house because Im always just jumping in my car and leaving without locking the door!!

Re: what is the most convenient thing you do with your pda?
oh, i forgot one. its not installed atm as i was flashing, but epdetect will attempt to detect if im having a seizure and then txt a few people with my gps location.

Re: what is the most convenient thing you do with your pda?
I use Remote Desktop to remote in to the Mediacenter HTPC that also pushes my mail, contacts and calendar to my phone via VZW Sync. If I need a file or something off that PC, I can just email it to the phone or myself to retrieve off of another PC. The best app ever for me. Also Mobile Remote allows my phone to become a remote keyboard and mouse for any PC with bluetooth. Very handy for a small UMPC without a physical keyboard like the Viliv S5 with a 4.8 in screen.

Re: what is the most convenient thing you do with your pda?
It's actually called Remote Desktop. It's a Windows native app for mobile.
|
Re: what is the most convenient thing you do with your pda?
Is there more than 1 remote desktop app? I have remote desktop too and use it all the time, but it's the same one I have been using for years now, and I've never seen another remote desktop app...

How the heck do you set up remote desktop anyway? I've tried but I have no clue how to get it to work.

1: Enable it on your computer. 2: Set the port on your computer. 3: Forward the port to your computer (in your modem/router). 4: Make sure your firewall isn't blocking it. 5: Install the app on your phone. 6: Run the app on your phone. 7: Tell the app to connect to [ip address]:[port#] EDIT: XP How To: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsXp/u...moteintro.mspx Vista and Win 7 How To: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...windows-vista/ Change the port: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306759 |

Re: what is the most convenient thing you do with your pda?
My most important app is my Money (Spb Money) app. Both, my spouse & I, are using it and then syncing it with MS money on the desktop. Can't live without it. That's why we're WM all the way.
