Here's the thing- there is literally nothing you can do on your iPhone that I can't do on my Touch Pro 2. I can watch my slingbox on my Touch Pro 2 using my phone's data connection though, and you can't do that on your iPhone (and no, it doesn't skip or stutter- as long as you have a decent home internet connection your phone's 3G is plenty fast enough for a slingbox, slingbox was invented, sold, and used before any carrier even had 3G). I can also access the full version of web pages- even youtube, and you can't do that on your iPhone (and the mobile version of youtube doesn't have all the same content that the full version has). I can also pull our my keyboard, open Word, and type up a document good enough to be used at work or school. And I can tilt my screen up, sit my phone on my desk, and watch a video. So you can go ahead and tell everyone how you don't care about certain features. But rest assured that WE don't care about your iPhone. We DO care about the features our phone has. And when someone says our phone has functionality that you can only get with our phone, they aren't just saying that because it sounds good. It's actually true. |

Re: Who plans to go HD2?
If all of us on the TP2 are using roms based from the HD2, what are you going to base roms for the HD2 off of?

I won't deny that iPhone has some advantages, but that doesn't make it wholly superior to WinMo. Here's a great example that works for both consumers and professionals for a good way to demonstrate some of WinMo's benefits. Turn each phone on. What can you see? iPhone (no matter what you install): -Time on small clock with date underneath -Some picture that you choose -A slider (So with a quick glance you get a clock) WinMo (With Pocket Shield): -Quick flash of the clock as phone unlocks and switches to homescreen -Big clock that's aesthetically pleasing -Current location and associated weather including today's high and low -Today's date -Upcoming appointments -Number of unread emails We haven't even had a chance to get into the speed of the phones, the mulitasking ability or disability, or specfic apps. Does this mean WinMo is wholly better now? No, not necessarily, but I've already given you a pretty simple scenario in which in wins hands down, there are more where it came from.

Another clueless soul. My iphone lockscreen has the weather (7 day forecast at that), appointments and ALL of my app notifications on the homescreen...including received emails and texts. I wish you people would stop embarassing yourselves and actually do some research on exactly what can be done to customize these phones. And do you see a slider? Give it up....and on top of that my weather updates every minute WITHOUT killing my battery.. not every hour, 2 hours or 3 hours. Now if you want to talk about winning hands down scenarios lets talk about multi-touch, screen response, speed of the phone, app development, app function, gaming, music(ipod, no need to even argue this one), video, app interfaces and least likely to crash after you put a TON of necessary tweaks in it just to get it to function like other phones do out of the box. You're talking like I dont have both a tp2 and an iphone and dont see the advantages and disadvantages of both on a daily. I've said once, the only benefits the tp2 has is the ability to flash custom roms (which I really couldnt care less about) and microsoft office mobile... which I NEVER use. I'll even give you the keyboard even though I never use the hard keyboard. Aside from that, nothing. Took new phones to make me realize it but as far as OS go winmo is in last place to me. Even palm did a better job with the pre.. would have jumped on that long ago if the screen wasnt so small. Last edited by brownhornet; 02-03-2010 at 09:40 AM. |

Re: Who plans to go HD2?
Of course I'm still using my slingbox as part of the discussion. I use mine everyday, why would I suddenly forget about it just because YOU don't use one? And I gave more examples than a slingbox anyway.

Oh yeah, and of course your battery doesn't die- you don't have 3G. LOL! Connect that thing to 3G and see how long the battery lasts. I can guarantee you the Touch Pro 2 gets WAY better battery life than the iPhone 3GS. I actually had a little test with the guy who sits in the cube next to me at work (big time iPhone fanboy) to see who got the best battery life. It wasn't even close. I went about 4 hours longer than him and still had over 20% left when I finally plugged in. And you keep saying there is no advantage to the Touch Pro 2. Are you dense? Are you just ignoring my posts? Again- I can watch my slingbox using the phone's internet connection (the way it was intended, the way it was when Apple rejcted the app), I can also get full desktop versions of web pages, and I can get the full desktop version of youtube (which has more content than the mobile version). Oh yeah, and I can run more than one app at the same time without risking bricking my phone and voiding my warranty. And I don't need some app nazi telling me what I can and can't do with my phone. Re: Who plans to go HD2?
The only thing you destroyed was your credibility.
Maybe someday you can go back and read this thread with an open mind. Then you will laugh at the notion that you have destroyed anything in this thread. You have been owned so bad it isn't even funny. I can just imagine you with fingers in your ears saying, "la la la la la, I can't hear you, la la la la la..." And then acting like you actually won some sort of argument. I can promise you, you haven't convinced anyone to buy an iPhone. All you did is try to pretend that nobody cares about the things the iphone can't do- when in reality probably everyone in this thread cares about it. Even you will probably be like a true iPhone fanboy and act like it's a major innovation when the iPhone finally gets those features. |
