Are you tied up in any of the warranty stuff and the customer service stuff? Like if my phone breaks tomorrow, I'm pretty sure T-Mobile will send me one for free or for $75. What are the advantages and disadvantages of unlocking the phone without a plan?

sprint is my carrier, so i have the contract with them. after sim unlocking, i can switch to a gsm service when my cdma is no good. if you want to dump sprint and you get a bad esn from them, you can still use a prepaid at&t or t-mobile sim card and have service. not knocking others carriers, but with a sprint tp2, you've got cdma or gsm.

Another thing I dislike but I guess it has it's pluses is the BACK speaker. The problem is that if I have it on the ground or table and set an ALARM or RING i do NOT hear it because the sound goes into the floor. Is all muffled.
