Re: noob question about radios

Radio are not always created equal. Some tend to get better signal than others. I personally stay with what the manf. puts on the phone...because I've never hand any luck with the other ones. Some people swear by others that they actually help there signal...but if anything its not much of a difference.

Re: noob question about radios

I tend to agree with the above post, however on my old sprint tp I changed the radio to a diff newer one that I found on the forum and it helped noticably hold a better signal.
A sort of vague rule of thumb is , if it's newer it might be better because these come from the manufacturer. However YMMV is always the unwritten rule.

Post Re: noob question about radios

havent noticed much difference on the TP2 yet but on my TP1 it made a world of a difference, a new radio stopped the overheat problem and held signal no matter what the cost, but that was just on the TP1 i had, i havent tried all the radios for the TP2 but no difference so far on the ones i tried

Re: noob question about radios

Yeah on some of the different radio's you might see a difference in signal....and you also might see worse battery life too.

Re: noob question about radios

I see it as a crapshoot...some do better than others...thats why my opinion is...if it isn't working...try another till your happy with it...otherwise stay with the radio you have.
