LOL@myself...I figured it out. I just copy the .exe to the /windows/startmenu folder...then I can point to it when I create the widget. |

Re: MS 3.5.1: How to create shortcut to an exe?
I use Total Commander as my file explorer .. it allows you to create a shortcut in a way which is very similar to the way that you might on a desktop.
Alternatively you can use a text editor (Total Commande comes with oneof those too ) to create a file like this Code:
21#"\Windows\Camera.exe" Anyway, then save that text file with a ".LNK" extension, in your \Windows\Start Menu\ folder. BTW -- your method of copying the EXE is not what you're looking for: you end up creating a duplicate of the executable instead fo just a link to it. This might seem to work some of the time, but it won't always! AND it will cost you precious space. |

Re: MS 3.5.1: How to create shortcut to an exe?
UPDATE - the easiest way is probably to use the standard File Explorer: select the EXE file, taphold> copy, then go to the \Windows\Start Menu\ folder, and taphold> paste shortcut

Re: MS 3.5.1: How to create shortcut to an exe?
Thanks for the reply. I noticed the "files" in the programs folder were actually shortcuts themselves...so I just tossed a shortcut to the exe. I used windows explorer after I sync'd up, btw. Thanks again for the tips.
