Users contact card doesn't show when dialed without area code

Every phone number in my contact list is stored with the area code as it should be. My problem is when I dial the number directly into my phone without the area code (exp. 555-5657) their contact card doesnt show up and history only reflects the number and not the name.

How can I make the phone assume the area code is my local area code and show their contact card? I have gone into contacts and the default area code is set to my area.

Thans in advance for any help

Me too, I don't recall the Mogul doing that, so it must be TF3D

Still a problem for me -- I searched but didn't see a fix? Did I miss it??

Re: Users contact card doesn't show when dialed without area code

same boat with you guys. the only thing i can think of is unless you dial the exact same numbers as how you saved it on your phone, it will treat the number as a new number being dialed. the only fix i can think of right now is that, if it's a local number to your area code, to just save it without the area code. other than that, i couldn't find a fix myself either.
