Re: Touch Pro vs Pro2 and more questions! please help.
I know you're a n00b... But bro... You really need to use the search feature. This would save you lots of time and it would allow us to help someone else who needs help.
There are several threads like this one. Long story short... Most of us who have gone from pro to pro2 have never regreted it. Some have. Do some reading and you'll surely find your answer. p. |

Sorry bro... I just re read my post and you know... I wasn't trying to kick you in the nads... Just wanted you to know that there are several posts out there like this one and that starting a new thread is usually frowned upon. I am glad others here were helpful. I hope you didn't take me the wrong way. I'm not a troll or anything like that. I would be happy to share my experiences with you... lol. Actually you can read all about them on the other posts. lol. Have fun here and don't take us too seriously bro. Thanks for being a good sport. p. |

At least offer him some advice too. If useful information is only posted ONCE in the forum, when people go looking all they're going to find is endless pages of information. He isn't really going to find an exact, personal answer by searching. That said: Yes, please look around next time, BUT... I just got my TP2 a while ago after having TEN Touch Pros since last October. Needless to say, everything "just works." My only complaint about the thing so far is that I miss the home key, and the windows key on mine is hard to press and doesn't provide feedback - it's probably broken but this is a refurb so I'll live with it till any more major problems show up - if they ever do. It's been a few weeks and I love it. The battery life is considerably better, the build quality is tons better, it's faster, and most importantly IT JUST WORKS. Google maps AGPS works. Sprint navigation works. SMS works. Calling works. Everything I try just works. The stock ROM is awesome. I was running build 28015 on my TP, which I miss. It's sucked adapting to WM 6.1 again but I don't want to lose the perfection of the stock ROM. I have not had to soft reset it since I got the phone. The battery doesn't plummet when I'm in a poor service area like the TP used to do. It still drops more quickly but at my parents house, my TP would go from 100% fully charged to 100% totally dead in under two hours (it was one hour and 51 minutes). It took longer to charge it than it did to let it sit in standby and die. The touchscreen is nicer to use, requires less pressure. The thing is just tons better. I haven't run into problems thusfar, nor can I see myself flashing off the stock ROM for quite some time. I'd say make the swap, you'll enjoy it. But it's only been a couple of weeks for me. My discontent for the first TP took about a month (and three replacements) to develop. |

Re: Touch Pro vs Pro2 and more questions! please help.
Thanks ShadowDrake!
Reading your post, I conclude that you and I are about the same then! I been pissed about the TP since about 20 days after I bought it, at first I was too niave to decide it wasnt ME! I have had it almost a year now. squezing pennies planning to get a TP2 without contract. I'm about there and thinking to myself, do I really want to piss away that $, I better check around. And with all the reading I DID do, I have already downloaded 15 things for when I do get the tp2, lol! |

Re: Touch Pro vs Pro2 and more questions! please help.
I had the 6700, mogul, tp1,and now the tp2. Its definitely worth the upgrade. The battery life is much better and like ShadowDrake said, everything just works. Althought there are some things ghat still did not get fixed. Like the phone getting hot but this only happens to me when im in a poor service area and the phone switches from 1x to EV a lot.

Re: Touch Pro vs Pro2 and more questions! please help.
I also have had the TP1 and actually ended up paying about $200 difference to upgrade to the TP2 (after selling my TP1)
I think the upgrade is TOTALLY worth it. the phone works perfect without any modification. the larger screen is great the built in updated touchflo3d makes the phone much more useful to me. and most importantly the a battery life is great.. gets me through the day at least.. |

Re: Touch Pro vs Pro2 and more questions! please help.
I want to shout a thanks out to those who responded. your opinions counted.
Now to jshaas2, and to defend my question, in general... It "has the same guts" {and many posts say that it seems} I don't know why a person might not conclude, that it might just be another POS... After all the pro was "supposed" to be an upgrade from the 6800. These things arent cheap, so I thought it would be a fair question. I think I will hope to get one soon. Any verizon people know if insurance replacements are the pro2's yet? (VBG) |
