Re: Garmin charger
I have a Garmin charger and it works for me. I try to only use it in a pinch though. I read somewhere a while ago that car chargers do not provide consistent power thus maybe harming your battery. Any ideas if that is true?

Re: Garmin charger
I use mine all the time, no need for a separate charger, works like a charm!
Edit: I use battery monitor on my TP2 and it appears to charge just like my home charger or any other car charger with mini usb jack. |

Re: Garmin charger
wow thats not what you want to hear in general. i used a cord that "fit" for my old mp3 player, it was a generic universal charger. i even had the voltage set to lower then what the mp3 player could handle and it still fried it.
just check the output voltage on the charger. i dont remember what the tp2 or tp can handle but i do remember my motorola charger is like 750 output wich is good. i think the phone can handle 1000 now that i think about it.

Re: Garmin charger
I do believe that all usbs are set by a standard. That standard is 5V for the voltage output. So unless it is some crap out of whack charger it will work in the phone. The current output of the charger just effects how fast it charges. So any mA output will work

Re: Garmin charger
agreed... I've used a variety of USB chargers and never had an issue with my TP2... as a matter of fact, if anything, some do not carry enough power... I know that usb to TP2 from a keyboard usb jack does not work on my work PC for instance... but as for overdoing it on the TP2, not likely in most scenarios...
