Sprint Touch Pro 2 on India GSM and CDMA Networks

Hello All,

I have the following questions for which i am searching the forums and getting more confused with out going anywhere.

I have Sprint Touch Pro 2. I am going back to India forever in few weeks.

I want to know the procedure to use CDMA networks (Reliance, tata indicom) in India with out roaming to sprint. Also another question is can i use India GSM SIM and CDMA networks both at once? i.e. having the option to make/receive call on both networks.

Apologize if i am asking redundant questions. Just looking for clear instructions. Hope you will help me.

Thanks in advance.
Murty.

Re: Sprint Touch Pro 2 on India GSM and CDMA Networks

Murty,

You can use it on GSM, infact have used it on Airtel and even used Airtel GPRS on the phone. I haven't tried CDMA(Reliance/Tata) on this phone.

Keep the phone in GSM only mode.

Best of luck.

Thanks msreeks for quick reply.
I am also looking for an easy method to make it possible to use the device with other CDMA networks.

Re: Sprint Touch Pro 2 on India GSM and CDMA Networks

gsm will work perfectly.

cdma on the other hand most likely will not work at all without actually deactivating it from sprint and then activating it on a cdma carrier in india and even then i doubt it will work because cdma in US is (i think) different from cdma in india

i tried to do the cdma way with my old 6700 in india and couldnt get it to work, gave up and just bought a cheap gsm phone there

Thanks for the information. Looking forward for any hack/tweek that makes it work with other CDMA networks like the SIM unlocker.
