enable htc volume from task bar

i know this is part of the verizon tweaks cab but i have a custom rom and i only want to activate the volume controller from a tap on the task bar. is it a registry hack? thanks

so you cant just tap on the speaker icon on tb? mine works fine, is this a vzw only issue?

I on VZW and also only get the Notification Manager when I select the sound icon in the taskbar. I believe what you're looking for is a way to disable this. I've seen it on the forums, but haven't ever tried it. Try the fix in post #2 and see if it does the trick for ya:

he(op) wants to"activate" the volume from tb, not disable it.

If you use a 6.5.3 rom, you can remap volume keys to up and down, and then click the task bar, click the windows icon and there you go.

That will load the HTC Volume controler from task bar.

my stock sprint tp2 cant do this either - that's one thing i miss that my diamond did

Yes I know. That's why I'm telling him to disable that notification manager. Now when you press anywhere on the bar that comes up. If you disable it, the normal menus come up. Here is a link to how it acts when the notification manager is disabled:

delete HTCVolume folder in Registry
