Opera Mini 5 Beta 2 as the default browser...

Running Mighty ROM on my Sprint Touch Pro2!

So I've set Opera Mini 5 Beta 2 as my default browser using a registry editor.

My problem is that when I launch it by tapping "Launch Browser" it launches Java and instead of going straight to the browser it puts up a white screen with "Opera Mini 5 beta 2" highlighted and the options on the soft keys to "Launch" or "Menu"

Any idea on how to make it go straight to Opera Mini without the need to ask permission?

How is this done?

Get a registry editor for your touch pro2.

Next, edit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\: DEFBROWSER (Had to put a space between : and D because it kept making the emoticon :D, but in reality there should not be a space.)

When you choose the : DEFBROWSER there will be options to change some values.

The value that has the file path leading to Opera or PocketIE, whichever is your default, should be changed to the file path that leads to your Opera Mini install.

For example, mine said "Windows\blahblahblah\Opera9.exe or something like that.

It now says "Program Files\Opera Mini\jbed.exe" and the quotes do have to be there or else it won't work.

But like I said, right now it launches Java and then you have to actually choose to launch the Beta from there. I've got no idea how to change that from happening.

Try adding something like -run "s1_" to the end of the path.

So mine is like:

"\Storage Card\Program Files\Opera Mini\jbed.exe" -run "s1_"

The 1 may be a 0 or 2 on your setup.

I was pointed to this thread over at XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...75#post5103675

I didnt like the software, browser choosing software, was really slow and it never inputed the right addresses when I selected Opera Mini 5 Beta 2.

I really wish there was a simple cab that did this, just like there was with Opera Mini 4...

Ok so using the TF3D still when clicking on the browser it still opens the Opera that was already on the phone not 10 beta 2. When installing the new opera it asks do you want to use it as the default browser but it still doesnt open 10 when i search something or have a webside as a tab so it their a way to make it the default or do i have to always open 10 to start using it?

Your referring to Opera Mobile 10, Mini never asks if you want to have it as your default browser.

Yes i am talking about Opera Mobile 10. It asked to make it my default but when searching it still brings up the stock Opera Mobile.
