new question:

I sent ringtones to my old phone via VZWPix. Can I still do that with the TP2 or can I load ringtones directly from the SD card?

Re: Newbie considering a TP2 needs help...

Hi
I'm also a newbie to windows mobile. I use a palm centro and am thinking of getting the sprint tp2. I have a lot of questions but will try to be concervitive. Be gentle Im a noob.
I have vista 64 but no outlook....any other way to sync with out it?
Why are alot of people changing the roms to customs like 'Mightyrom'? What is the major advantage...speed?
Is the stock sprint rom slow or restrictive?

I know Iknow f&*^#en newbies. Thanks for your understanding. I think Im gonna like this phone and this Forum.

Thanks again

Opps forgot a question. I want to control running apps and internet connections. Does winmo and the tp2 allow this? Maybe have it check my email once or twice a day then disconnect once its updated, or does the phone need to be connected at all time to use the push email?
Again sorry, I have so many questions..its scarry making the leap from what Im sed to.
Thanks

I also want to use SlingBox... I take it I can't use slingbox with a dumbphone, right?
Correct, the SlingBox mobile client only comes for Windows Mobile and iPhone OSs.

OK. I just tried installing the SMS cab and it didn't work. DOwnloaded from here. transferred over with ActiveSync, it opened, and installed, and I'm still getting SMS notifications. What'd I do wrong?

OK... my phone is still locked, I tried installing the SMS notification twice, didn't do anything. What am I doing wrong? ActiveSync->Explore - then drop the cabs in, then load the cabs on the phone, reset. Doesn't work.
