Re: to former TP1 owners (now owning TP2)

Even on stock I noticed a HUGE gain in battery. My TP1 was horrible. I seriously couldn't go 8 hours without even using the phone without it dying. My TP2 I could go a full shift at work(generally 14 hours once you factor in commute) under pretty heavy use, and still have 30%. And now that I'm on MR? Battery life is just insane. I can seriously go a full day without a charge. |

Re: to former TP1 owners (now owning TP2)
Paid full price ($600) for my TP2................ WORTH EVERY PENNY!!
It is SOO much better than the TP. I actually smashed one of my tp's on the sidewalk, in a fit of rage, right in front of the sprint store with everyone watching. I had 3 tp's all together........ the first 2 were thrown a number of times. With the 2nd one being completely destroyed (sidewalk insident). The third sits on my desk, presently unused. really disliked that phone. Actually........ i can't beleive I ever bought another HTC phone after that (extremely frustrating) phone. My new TP2 has never even been tossed...... love it. Win Mo requires a fair amount of tweaking to get "right". But the TP2 comes out the box close to pretty good. |

Re: to former TP1 owners (now owning TP2)
The screen is much nicer on the Touch Pro 2 and it is much faster than the Touch Pro. I don't regret upgrading. The thing you need to ask yourself is this one phone worth signing up for another 2 years?
I am wondering if I will want the new Google phone when it comes out. Android is a nice operating system. If HTC offered the Touch Pro 2 hardware with Android I would surely take it. Windows Mobile is just so buggy. Android seems to be the way of the future. Seems like no matter how much more memory that they give us Windows Mobile sucks it dry. |

Re: to former TP1 owners (now owning TP2)
The screen is bigger and responds well (unlike the first batch of tp1s where the corners failed) and it isn't yellow and ugly (like the tp1s that fixed the failed corners -_-; ) The battery life isn't better than my tp1. The camera is quite shitty especially without the flash. The video recording is way better with lots more frames and and sound recording isn't worthless as with the tp1. Record a lawn mower with the tps and see.
I like the fact that they removed the completely worthless d-pad and I even notice little things like moving the volume control more toward the rear so it can function with the keyboard opened. I despise the location of the reset and rather turn the phone off and restart than having to remove that battery cover. Videos play better despite what you may hear. I encoded some anime at max resolution to test it out. It skipped like crazy for some reason when I first started it. I then tried to replicate the problem but it ran flawlessly ever since. The phone runs much cooler to the touch and the speakers and ringers (amplified used audacity) are louder. Keyboard is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY better despite the missing tab and ctrl keys. That was taken care of though . I also replaced the worthless mute button on the back with things that are useful. I couldn't bring myself to sign a 2 year though so I purchased it off of craigslist for $300 Last edited by esqueue; 12-13-2009 at 11:14 PM. |

TP2 pros: -Bigger HUGE screen... I have a TP1 for AT&T that I am using as my work phone... The TP2's screen DWARFS it... if you get a nice Navigation app, you are sitting pretty... 3.2 inches versus 2.8... it aint even close... -Beautifully loud speakers... the speaker phone on theses, blows away the speaker phone on any other phone. -Built in conferencing... -Wonderfully spaced out keyboard, with nice keys... -If you get the right rom (Mighty's with Sense UI 2.1 on top of WinMO 6.5) you get a stable, super fast rom... -3.5 inch Headphone jack, makes life easy... Pro's for TP -The Camera is night and day 100x better. I am literally take printable pictures with TP's camera. And the flash is a Godsend... you can get an app and convert that badboy into a flashlight -The small screen is soooo beautiful with the crisp colors... and sharper pixes because of its size... -Load NRGZ 6.5 rom with Sense UI 2.5, works like a dream (outside of no landscape). Can't say the same for TP2, because TP2 uses a TON of memory just to be fast, in the pagepool. -Its nice restarting the phone, and seeing 143 megs of program memory on one of the best ROMS, versus seeing 98 on the TP2 using one of its BEST ROMS.... -Did I mention that the TP2's camera is sooooo horrible. It has a really bad hue, and then it has such bad dithering and color noise in each of the photo's that even on the screen they look horrible. Don't blow them up and send them to a friend, because the look horrible. -TP1's camera resolution is 20xx by 15xx where as the TP2's is 20xx by 10xx. So yes, the camera as DOWNGRADED... -Wonderful D-pad...makes navigation ohhhh so much easier. HTC and Microsoft dropped the ball on this one... in the HD2 and the TP2 and Diamond 2... -Easily accesible Soft Reset button... makes no sense to tuck it under the battery cover, ala Treo 650\750.... just not wise... |

Re: to former TP1 owners (now owning TP2)
It has almost no lag
The touch screen uses much much less pressure the telephone speaker sounds much nicer Speakerphone mode doesn't give rattling distortion The camera seems to take decent pictures - I had to take the battery cover off the TP to get decent pictures, this one doesn't seem to have that problem That screen...is awesome. I'm not really used to this new Touch Flo, and I wish it had Windows Mobile 6.5 on it already. I can't get Sprint TV to work no matter how many buttons I push Battery life is VERY improved - my TP would go about 4 hours before needing a charge, this one will last the whole work day, and a few hours afterwards. I have also not noticed ANY overheating issues with this phone - even when its been on charge for a long time. |

Re: to former TP1 owners (now owning TP2)
I came from a TP1 with Verizon, have the TP2 now. Can't really put a finger on it, but this phone is SOOOOO much better. With every phone i've owned (M815, 6600, 6700, 6800, TP1) there have been things that bothered me within minutes of owning the phone. Nothing big, just little annoyances. So far after 5 months with a TP2 the only thing bad i can say is that i keep bumping the screen button on top of the phone inadvertantly shutting it off while typing. I didn't even have the desire to flash a custom ROM until last week when i saw manila 2.5. If you can do so affordably, it is absolutely worth the switch.
