Re: No matter how hard I try, everytime I flash I get duplicates!
I havent flashed my TP2 yet, but had that problem with my Mogul. Anytime I restored my phone from anything but my computer I would get dups. All I ever could figure out was to hard reset when I got home and sync with my computer. Sure thats not what you want, but thats all I ever could figure out.

Re: No matter how hard I try, everytime I flash I get duplicates!
this is partially the reason I stopped using activesync and now use gmail exchange sync.

Re: No matter how hard I try, everytime I flash I get duplicates!
I get this everytime I synce with Outlook after a new flash. Annoying. I have cleared extra contacts from MyPhone, outlook, and even sim card in various ways. I still can't figure it out. Maybe I will do the Google sync. Can I upload all my current contacts from phone or do I have to start from scratch?

Re: No matter how hard I try, everytime I flash I get duplicates!
Well obviously the reason why there are duplicate contacts is because the contacts are being added from two different sources I usually would use pimbackup to restore my contacts but when I sync with my pc I make sure to not sync my contacts. Now I been trying to find a cab but I cant at this time but if my memory serves me correctly there was a cab called contactcleaner or something to that effect that I saw over at xda a while back, you might want to try that. You can use it to get rid of duplicate contacts, there are other similar cabs as well just cant seem to find anything right now but they are out there.

Re: No matter how hard I try, everytime I flash I get duplicates!
I use to use active sync and it was a pain in the ass - I use PIM backup now for contacts and it works perfect. It's fast, stays on the storage card and don't need a computer to run it. I highly recommend it. I don't back up the speed dials cause I had problems with that, but I only set 2 speed dials so it's not that hard to put back in.
