The quality heavily depends on YOUR home ISP, and the speed you get on the phone.

You might should consider a Hava.
It is cheaper than Sling, you can save stuff to your hard drive which sling has blocked, and the mobile app is free instead of 29.99. JMO though.

Hava is great for a local network but not phones.. it doesn't support the TP2 480x800, well unless you don't need to change channels via your phone. I have both HavaHD & slingbox... if $ is an issue ago with the slingbox solo and their mobile player.

Could you elaborate on this? What exactly does HAVA do or not do on the TP2's 480x800? I checked their site, and they show 640x480 - not exactly the TP2's display, but close enough?

Thanks!

I had a hava for a short time & would never buy another one. Hava has the absolute WORST CS I've ever dealt with (& thats saying something)

I thought the hava was awesome at first, but the first unit I had went bad in three weeks. It was a PITA but I got it replaced under warranty. The second one also went bad & the third one I got was DOA right out of the box.....

At that point, I decided I wanted a refund. Well, good luck with that. I did finally get the refund, but I must have spent 20 hours on the phone, threatened to sue etc etc etc etc

The hava mobile app does not really work very well either, the last I knew landscape did not work at all (I haven't checked on it lately because I don't care anymore)

Hava Windows Mobile is ideal for 320x240 qVGA phones. It plays (forced landscape) but on TP2 (verizon stock) you can't bring up the remote or change channels. only the play/stop (center button) and volume works, plus the menu (too slow to change channels with menu). no keyboard shortcuts work.

you could run WVGAFIX3 to set the device to 640x480 but that doesn't remedy anything plus the phone is unusable for anything else during playback.

i'd settle for running qVGA resolution in portrait mode but the software is too stupid to allow for that too.

utterly pathetic customer support.

yes, it does. Last year, I replaced my router & some cabling on my LAN & my SlingMobile quality improved quite noticeably (RoadRunner Turbo internet connection).

The problem I have is, it's not consistent & I'm not really sure why.

One day I will get 25 fps (& the picture is perfect) & the next day on the same channel in the same area I will get 2 fps (it still works but it's very blotchy/pixelly)

I use the thing everyday & would be lost without it, but I wish I could figure out how to ALWAYS get over 20 fps..........
