I have found this to be useful as a soft reset tool. I have mapped my screen on/off button as a soft reset when i press it three times in row. its been quite handy & I don't have to open any programs or depend on the screen. it even works when the phone is running slow. I would say whether or not it works when my phone is frozen but its never happened:)!!! I also use it to change the mapping on other keys as well. it a pretty great tool.

JewBastard,

Can that be used to map the physical "send" key (button). I'd like it to go to call history instead of the dialer (like flip phones). Do you know if that's possible? Thanks.

you can use rhodium keyboard controller to change your send key.

Hi guys, is there a free program that allows you to schedule a soft reset automatically at certain intervals, like daily or weekly?

I think that my touch pro 2 is gonna need it :> Or maybe I need it to feel peace of mind.

cleanram can do this.

Here is my personal set up that works VERY well:

spb backup to backup and reset every morning at 5am monday (keep only 5 backups), and cleanram to reset tue-sun. I never have SOD's or problems during the day, and have been doing this for months.

it's an awesome way to keep your phone reliable.

Basic question: if you soft reset, does this not clear the ram? What does cleanram give you that a soft reset doesn't? Regardless, I'm doing both now :>
I'm cautiously optimistic that I can get this phone to be usable and stable.

I use cleanram to do soft resets only because it has a scheduler for automatic soft resets. A soft reset does a better job at cleaning ram than cleanram, even at level 3.

I use ShutXP it has a display off, shut down, and soft reset option when you hold down the power button.
