K, followed your instructions to the T and still no joy...everything works as before except for the "Announce Incoming Calls" even when as far as having my wife call me after I used the VC to call her for the first time.

Have another question though, is there suppose to be a Voice Command choice listed in the drop down for assigning ring tones to "incoming calls" under start>settings>all settings>personal tab>sounds & notification> notification tab?

So Here is what i did ..

I made a new cab .. that just replaces the files needed.
( including the patched CPL )

Install Ver MSVC 1.6.21040.CAB reboot - Then Install Patch! Reboot!
Seems to work well and works for everything I tried .. Give this a try.

So you saying that this fixed the "announce incoming calls"?

I updated opening post on what works and what does not.

Announcing works over speaker but not over bluetooth.

If neither works for you it may depend on your ROM.

I use MSVC 1.6.21725 with out issues on MAX Energy

Noted, "Announce Incoming Calls" OVER THE PHONES SPEAKER is a no go...I guess my problem is with the ROM. It's a shame being as though this is the ROM it came with. I only hope and pray now that someone at the local repair shop is savvy enough to fix it. Thanks anyway.

Has no one still found a fix for the MSVC BT issue?

I have a touch pro 2 and I also have a jabra bt8010 BT. Though this BT rocks I was unable to get announce callers over BT to work thru my BT. It kept coming out in the speakers instead even though I had all the flags set. So, after looking for others BT that would work, I found one name LG HBM-570. I basically had to turn off the announce caller function in TP2. But with the LG HBM-570, It has a name alert function where it will also announce the caller name of incoming call if it is in your phone book or just say the number if not. All going through the BT. This possible because TP2 supports the Phone Book Access Profile or PBAP which I believe is another type of BT protocol. There may be other BTs like this, but the LG HBM-570 did actually what I was wanting the MS voice command to do on the TP2. In stores, it will run about $50-60 bucks, but shop on the internet as I found one for $20.00. I still keep my Jabra BT8010 for working out since It comes with two ear pieces for stereo. I hope this others.

I started a voice link, didn't know about this one until today, i've got what appears to be newer downloads.. will try these patches with the newer downloads.
