Re: hard spl unlock not working on my replaced phone...

here is what worked for unlocking 2nd replacement sprint TP2 handset.

1. open EPST MSL program by dialing ##mslnumber#
2. changed the MDN and MSID to a different number (my google voice number). it could also be ur home telephone number in theory.
3. save and reset. ignore network or other errors.
4. connect to activesync and start the unlocker.
5. after a successful unlock and reset, change the MDN & MSID numbers back to their original values.

all set. no more waiting for cmonex's replies.

p.s. use a different computer or a dual OS on ur's to be on the safe side.
they might be looking at a boot drive hash to cross verify.

i am thankful for all the hardwork from CMONEX n team. my attempt is only to get around the seemingly longer wait times.

Thanks.

Excellent work...........................! I'm also thankful to CMONEX but the waiting does suck. I verified and this does work on the same network and same computer I used to unlock my touch pro 2. I was able to unlock my g/f's touch pro 2 on my network with no problem using this work around. I saved this HardSPL just in case a update is released to counter this workaround. Thanks!!!!!!!

If you need your MSL:

If you have a Sprint Touch Pro2 this is the only way to get your MSL other then to call sprint.
1. You need a Reg edit tool like PHM RegEdit or resco registy editor.
2. Go to HKLM\Software\HTC\ATDbgLog
3. Edit item called "Enable" and change from "0" to "1" (leave out quotes.) Save changes.
4. Exit PHM RegEdit or resco registy editor.
5. Shutdown/turnoff device.
6. Turn back on.
7. Once turned on leave running for 1 minute or longer (a log files is being created durring this time in the "\Atlog" folder.)
8. After 1 min go back into registry and set value back to "0". Make sure to save changes and exit PHM RegEdit or resco registy editor.
9. Shutdown device again and turn back on.
10. Varify that the Registry value is still set to "0", if not then repeat above steps and wait 1 min before shutting down the second time in step 9.
11. Now you should open Explorer and go to the folder "\Atlog" in the root directory of your device.
12. You shoould see a file called "ATDbg0" (the "0" may be another number like 1), if your using another file browser you may see the full file name include the "xtx" extention. This file is a text file and can be opened in Word mobile.
13. open the file and use the find feature to locate "RMSL", you should soon find a line item that includes a 6 digit number, this is your MSL code.

Re: hard spl unlock not working on my replaced phone...

or you can do what i did.

1. find a old spare phone. even a broken one,
2. loginto sprint account and click activate phone
3. type in the esn number of the spare phone and follow the steps
4. come back to the account page
5. click again on the activate new phone and this time type in ur new TP2 esn number and follow the clicks.

the activation page will show ur msl codes along with other info.

you can do this how ever may times as u want. sprint doesnt care.

best part. u dont even have to turn off ur TP2 during the whole process.

njoy.
