htc touch connection problems

Hi im a noob when it comes to this sort of stuff but i have been searching posts all over the internet on why my htc touch wont connect to my pc im running windows xp and active sync used to connect whenever i wanted to my touch but then the other day it stopped connecting it says its trying to connect but never does and trouble shooter comes up then when i scan it says there is no connection to my device so can anyone please help

Firewalls can sometimes be the culprit. Try disabling those and see if the problem is resolved. If that is the case, you'll just need to add an exception to your firewall so that activesync will connect while it is active.

I cant find any firewalls on my computer to disable this is really frusterating ive been working on this for the past two days

What about the Windows firewall? On your computer, go to the control panel and click on Windows Firewall.

You could try deleting the partnership in activesync from the phone and computer.

ok i figured it out on my own how to delete the partnership but that didnt seem to help my problem either. i have already tried reinstalling activesync im not sure what else to do
