If you want a better camera, get a nikon.
The adapter works just as good as the 3.5mm jack.
The only thing I will agree with is the microSD slot.

-I don't want to carry a camera with me everywhere AND my phone.

-The adapter does NOT work just as good as the 3.5mm jack as I cannot use a portable charger, external video display, or data transfer with it without using a stupid looking and large dongle.
