Re: HTC Touch voice recognition software
Microsoft Voice Command, provided in many of the ROMs (including those that come with the phone) does support the announcing of calls and callers, but that announcing feature may be off by default. Plus there are actually three settings that affect whether or not you hear the calls.
Under Settings select Voice Command (can't recall which tab its on). When the Settings dialog for Voice Command appears, select Phone from the drop down menu, then select the Options button. On the Voice Command:Phone Options page, make sure the Announce Incoming Calls is checked and click OK. Next, with Phone still selected in the list box, select the Notification button. If you want the old behavior, select the Announce notifications through device speaker or wired handset only (or one of the other options that you might prefer - but they will require the use of a bluetooth headset). Finally if you unselect the Only during free time option, you will get your calls announced all the time. If you leave it checked and a call comes in while an appointment in your calendar is active (and the item is marked as busy) it will not be announced. Kind of nice so you don't have meetings interrupted, but the choice is yours. HTH.. Dan |
