Search for alltel and you will find a thread in the apache section that has a list of prls. I'm currently using 40023 which is a prl for the laptop data cards. It allows roaming on sprints evdo. That may help with the speed in your area. If alltel is charging you for minutes when connected you probably don't have the data plan or it is set up wrong. May want to call customer service.

If I remember correctly the axxess is $19.99 a month. If you change your plan to the smart choice plan that has unlimited data, nights and weekend at 7pm, my circle and unlimited messaging for about the same fees when you add all that to the voice plan. Might want to look into. This phone was designed to have mobile web as part of it.

It's not going to work. I don't get why you want to do this anyway, by the time you pay for a dialup ISP and have to use your minutes if you want to get online during the day, you're better off paying a few bucks more for real data.

Maybe you had some kind of special setup or something, but basically, dialup isn't going to work very well over a cell connection, if at all. The way they work is optimized for voice, data will be very slow if it works at all.
