I have one now.
No, Verizon has not released it yet but I actually finally have one as my phone. I'm doing testing for my company *human_machine interface*. Due to the combination of it's 'release state' and since I'm still 'building' it to my personal standards I won't comment on performance yet. I had my cooked xv6700 really dialed with the cooked wm6 ROM, but the xv6800 is pretty sweet. BTW, I have kept my cooked xv6700 just in case I need to revert back to that platform, but it is not looking like that will be either desirable or necessary. Once I have it dialed in I'll be able to draw some conclusions. Nice hardware. -Surfer

Surfer.... What did that post add to this thread? We already know it hasn't been released yet, this was a "Its coming thread" and you didn't give any perspective as to your likes or dislikes on the XV6800 on Verizon. You didn't give any information what-so-ever? All you said is that you have one, but can't say anything about it... Why couldnt you say anything, your not on a non-disclosure agreement. Your post leads some people to believe your just making things up.

IMO: There's nothing to add. The XV6800 is a HTC Titan. Same damn phone that has been out from every other carrier for months. No difference in RAM, processor, etc. The only difference on the Titan from carrier to carrier will be how much crapware they decide to add on to it.

Hehe...
...take it on face value. I've been waiting to replace my xv6700 with the 'till now vaporware xv6800, as have just a few other Verizon customers. Obviously, Sprint users could care less but I felt that the fact that I have one in hand would be encourging news to Verizon xv6700 owners who have been waiting FOREVER for the xv6800 like me. As far as posting specfics related to performance I refuse to speculate or guess...I felt it would be best to mod the phone to my personal preference, then use it in the real world on a daily basis prior to posting a bunch of random assumptions. I hope that answers your eloquently framed 'question' as to why I posted the news of a real xv6800 being in-hand in the real world. And as far as some people *lemme guess who* assuming that I'm just making this up... ...ahh...neva mind. You're entitled to your opinion and I have no desire to change your mind about anything. Trust me, I'll be posting comments on performance/operation/hardware build quality at the point that I can draw educated and accurate conclusions...I just got the phone less than 24 hours ago. One thing I can say...the A2DP stack streams internet radio much better to my Sony BT5000 A2DP car stereo than my cooked A2DP WM6 xv6700. Much smoother, cleaner and solid. In addition I have had folks comment that this phone's telecom audio quality is superior to my xv6700. There. *wink* -Surfer Quote:

Thanks gotodd...I'm lucky to have access to this example. No word yet *still* on
Verizon release dates. If I hear I'll let you know right away. >your not on a non-disclosure agreement. Yes I am. I'm functioning as a tester...Verizon is a partner/customer and I'm in the communications sector testing our products with the new Verizon phone, including the s720 CDMA version of the VOX. -Surfer |
